Things seem to be picking up in the Ryan Adams world now! Lots of new tour dates, a new studio album in the fall, and hopefully a new deluxe reissue of Heartbreaker (fingers crossed). Here are some updates to keep on your radar....
- The release date for the reissue of Heartbreaker has been pushed back to May 6th according to some local record stores. (See my post below for more info.)
- A new Ryan Adams studio album is expected to come out in the Fall. Recording was wrapped up at the end of February at the legendary Electric Lady Studios in New York City. Ryan posted on twitter that he had recorded 65 new songs for the project!! Members of the Shining, Johnny T, and Paul Shaffer are all expected to be involved in the recordings.
- The new studio album from La Sera titled Music for Listening to Music To - came out earlier this month and is worth checking out if you're a fan of the Smiths. Ryan Adams produced the album at Pax-Am Studios. For a track by track breakdown of the album and some song clips click HERE.
- There's a very enjoyable interview between Ryan Adams and punk legend Bob Mould available for free download on NPR's All Songs Considered website. During the 1 hour interview, they geek out over various punk bands, talk about churches, the "vinyl revival", touring, songwriting, Bob's new album "Patch the Sky", and much more. Even if you don't know anything about Bob, you'll probably like it. They also play some songs from the new album at Pax-Am Studios. Check it out HERE.
